This stamp is the introductory value from the landmark 1964 first definitive series issued by the Emirate of Ajman (عجمان). Printed with a delicate, gold-inked arabesque floral border along the top edge, the horizontal layout pairs a portrait vignette of Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi (who ruled the emirate from 1928 until 1981) with an elegant Arabian horse (Equus ferus caballus). Celebrated for its legendary endurance, structural agility, and deep historical lineage within Bedouin culture, the horse is illustrated standing against a warm, desert sunset gradient. This inaugural collection marked Ajman's first independent step away from British postal administration toward establishing its own civil infrastructure.
