Arabian Horses - 2 Rupee
This regular postage stamp continues the landmark 1964 inaugural definitive collection issued for the Emirate of Fujeira (الفجيرة), following the established horizontal duo-panel layout of the series. The right-hand panel illustrates a pair of elegant Arabian horses (Equus ferus caballus) standing in an open desert plain against a soft, sand-colored sunset gradient. Renowned for their high stamina, structural refinement, and deep historical role in the tribal lineage and mobility of the region, the horses capture a core pillar of traditional Bedouin pride.
The left-hand panel features the series' signature gold-inked arabesque frame enclosing the portrait of Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi (ruler from 1942 to 1974) with his ceremonial khanjar. Natively inscribed with the bilingual value tablet ("10 NP" / "١٠ ب"), this core denomination was widely used within the emirate's early independent postal network to process standard domestic letter and print rates.
