This striking airmail stamp ("بريد جوي") was issued by Sharjah & Dependencies (الشارقة وملكحقاتها) in 1964 as part of its official tribute series, "In Memory of John Kennedy." Masterfully printed in multi-color photogravure by the British security house Harrison and Sons Ltd., the vertical composition features a crisp blue-line portrait vignette of President John F. Kennedy superimposed over a towering, copper-brown silhouette of the Statue of Liberty in New York Harbor. The design beautifully pairs the late president's legacy with this iconic global monument of freedom, democracy, and human rights. Framed by muted olive-green panels at the top and bottom containing the bilingual state titles and value tablets ("40 NP" / "٤٠ بيزة"), this mid-value airmail issue was heavily utilized by the civil administration to process regional registered packets and standard international transit routes.
