NASA’s Project Gemini (1965–1966) bridged the early suborbital/orbital flights of Project Mercury and the lunar ambitions of the Apollo program. The two-person Gemini capsule was engineered to test critical spaceflight capabilities required for future Moon landings, including orbital maneuvering, long-duration flight endurance, rendezvous and docking with target vehicles, and extravehicular activities (spacewalks).

Issued in 1965 by the Trucial State of Ajman (AJMAN / عجمان) within its multi-value space exploration series, this stamp illustrates the orbital deployment phase of the Gemini program. The artwork captures the conical Gemini spacecraft separating from the adapter section and upper rocket booster, floating above Earth's curved atmosphere into orbital flight.
