This plum-colored stamp was issued in 1963 by the Emirate of Sharjah & Dependencies (الشارقة وملحقاتها) to honor the humanitarian work of the Red Crescent Society. Printed by Harrison & Sons Ltd, the horizontal layout features a prominent red crescent emblem enclosed within a crisp white circular shield on the left, flanked by the bilingual vertical title "RED CRESCENT / الهلال الأحمر". On the right, the stamp bears an official portrait vignette of the ruler, Sheikh Saqr bin Sultan Al Qasimi. By circulating this issue, the local postal administration aligned the emirate's medical relief, humanitarian aid, and public health initiatives with the recognized international symbols of the Red Cross and Red Crescent movement.
