This regular postage stamp represents a key mid-value denomination within the historic 1964 inaugural definitive collection issued for the Emirate of Fujeira (الفجيرة). Adhering to the series' traditional horizontal duo-panel layout, the right-hand panel showcases a detailed, full-color engraving of an apex predator native to the region: the elusive Arabian Leopard (Panthera pardus nimr). Highly adapted to surviving the hyper-arid montane ecosystems of the Arabian Peninsula, this critically endangered big cat is illustrated standing alertly against a warm, desert sunrise gradient. The left-hand panel preserves the signature intricate gold-flowing arabesque frame enclosing the formal portrait of the ruler, Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi (who governed Fujeira from 1942 until 1974), wearing traditional attire alongside his ceremonial khanjar. Natively anchored by the bilingual country and value inscriptions ("15 NP" / "١٥ ب"), this core issue authorized regional transit rates while documenting the unique and highly threatened wildlife heritage of the Hajar Mountains.
