Al Maktoum Bridge- 20 naye rupee
This stamp focuses on infrastructure expansion and regional connectivity, illustrating the newly constructed Al Maktoum Bridge spanning the Dubai Creek while a bird soars in flight above it. As the very first bridge built to link the historic districts of Bur Dubai and Deira, the structure carries a powerful message of unity, engineering progress, and physical modernization, replacing traditional boat crossings with efficient overland transit. The soaring bird acts as a symbolic parallel to the "AIR MAIL" inscription, emphasizing speed, freedom, and the rapid integration of the Trucial States into global aviation networks. Featuring the portrait medallion of Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the design directly credits dynastic foresight for this pivotal developmental milestone, utilizing daily correspondence to broadcast a narrative of structural advancement and economic ambition.
