Dromedary Camels - 3 Rupee
This regular postage stamp is a key mid-value denomination from the landmark 1964 inaugural definitive collection issued for the Emirate of Fujeira (الفجيرة). Following the series' signature horizontal duo-panel layout, the right-hand panel features a detailed illustration of an adult single-humped Dromedary camel (Camelus dromedarius) alongside its calf standing on a light desert patch. As the ultimate historical vehicle for transport, water preservation, and survival across the Trucial Coast, the dromedary reflects deep ancestral traditions of mobility and trade. The left-hand panel is anchored by the ornate, gold-inked arabesque frame enclosing the formal portrait of Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, who ruled Fujeira from 1942 until 1974, carrying his traditional ceremonial khanjar. Bearing the bilingual value tablets ("20 NP" / "٢٠ ب"), this core denomination was primarily used by the early civil administration to process standard international surface mail and regional registered rates.
