Space Exploration: Gemini IV Spacewalk E.H. White - 25 naye paise
NASA’s Gemini IV mission, launched on June 3, 1965, marked a major breakthrough in American crewed space exploration. Commanded by astronaut James McDivitt alongside pilot Edward H. White II, the four-day flight completed 66 orbits around Earth. During this historic mission, Ed White conducted the very first American extravehicular activity (spacewalk), floating freely outside the spacecraft for over 20 minutes tethered to the capsule and maneuvering with a handheld propulsion gun. The mission also evaluated long-duration spaceflight effects and attempted the first orbital rendezvous maneuvers. Issued by the Trucial State of Ajman (AJMAN / عجمان) as part of its space exploration achievements series—subsequently updated with a currency surcharge—this stamp honors Astronauts Edward White and James McDivitt. The illustration features the dual portraits of McDivitt and White alongside planet Earth, encircled by intersecting orbital trajectory paths tracing their multi-day spaceflight around the globe.
