1964 New York World's Fair - 10 naye paise
This 1-naye-paise commemorative stamp was issued by the Emirate of Dubai (دبي) to celebrate the opening of the 1964 New York World's Fair. The striking horizontal composition centers a bold red graphic of the Unisphere, the monumental spherical stainless-steel representation of the Earth designed by Gilmore D. Clarke to serve as the central theme symbol of the fair ("Peace Through Understanding"). The background splits its panoramic view between the iconic skyscraper skyline of Manhattan on the left and the modern architectural pavilions of the fairgrounds at Flushing Meadows–Corona Park on the right. Inscribed at the top in red script with the exhibition title ("معرض نيويورك الدولي ١٩٦٤"), the issue connects Dubai’s early international postal relations directly to a major symbol of mid-century globalism.
