This regular postage stamp belongs to the foundational 1964 definitive wildlife collection issued natively for the Emirate of Umm Al Quwain (أم القيوين), utilizing the series' signature duo-panel horizontal configuration. The right-hand panel showcases a vibrant, full-color rendering of a Silver Moony (Monodactylus argenteus), also known as the diamond batfish, a schooling coastal species highly common throughout the brackish mangrove estuaries and shallow coral bays of the Arabian Gulf. The meticulous engraving captures the fish's distinctively compressed, diamond-shaped silver body, highlighted by bright yellow-edged dorsal and anal fins alongside its characteristic vertical black eye-stripes. Positioned on the left within an intricate, gold-inked arabesque frame is the portrait vignette of Sheikh Ahmad bin Rashid Al Mualla (who ruled from 1929 until 1981), providing the sovereign authority that authorized this regular stamp for standard regional and international transit rates.
